BLCL Spring Newsletter 2026

SPRING 2026 Learn Gardening at Your Briggs Lawrence County Libraries BRIGGSLIBRARY.ORG

FROM OUR DIRECTOR The hope of spring is hard to find in harsh weather but BLCPL is always looking ahead. All of our Beyond Books initiatives are about helping people lead happier, healthier, and more fulfilling lives while placing the library at the center of those efforts. As spring unfolds, we encourage you to checkout some of our sport and activity kits to enjoy the outdoors with your loved ones, or checkout one of our bicycles and go for a renewing ride as the weather outside improves. We appreciate every patron who braved the harsh winter weather to visit our locations and each patron who found items of interest in our digital catalog from the comfort of their cozy couches. It is my goal to make sure the library is here for each and every one of you. I feel like I got to meet all of you at the packed house for our Columbus Zoo animal showcase in January. I hope you enjoyed meeting Anchovy the penguin and Otis the owl just as much as I did. Seeing all those happy and bright children’s faces lit up with the wonder of experiences and learning is one of the pillars of librarianship, and I am so proud to do that work for Lawrence County. Our programming focus this year will be on celebrating America’s 250th anniversary with themed programs each month and four large programs each quarter of the year. Please join us as we celebrate America and each other at your BLCPL.
