Monitor Your Blood Pressure Toolkit Locally supported by FROM OUR DIRECTOR It has been a season of turbulence and renewal here at BLCPL, but we have steered a clear course. The next round of renovations is coming to the meeting room at BLCPL Ironton; repairs will soon be completed to the exterior of BLCPL, South Point; the community garden at BLCPL, Proctorville is nearly complete; we are also gearing up for a renewed space in our partnership with Symmes Valley Schools. The path forward for BLCPL, Chesapeake is more complex, but we remain committed to equitable solutions for the area in the face of structural failure and renovation challenges. We are indebted to the community partnership efforts of Chesapeake Elementary School and St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Chesapeake for their assistance in our work to maintain programming and community outreach in Chesapeake over this trying summer. The bright spot of the summer has been our Summer Reading Program. We want to thank every participant for sharing their love of reading and learning with us in the hottest months of the year. We also want to thank the Briggs Trust for helping us expand awareness of our community cooling station efforts this summer and our warming station this upcoming winter. Have you stopped into a branch for a complementary water or popsicle during the heat? Our cooling station is here for you. While you visit our South Point location to cool off take a minute and visit the blood pressure kiosk and check in with your health. Thanks to a grant from the American Heart Association South Point has added an in-branch blood pressure checking station to the library and if you need blood pressure monitoring assistance more regularly, we have added several blood pressure monitoring kits to our Library of Things for 28 days checkout.
