Bids For Chesapeake Construction Project

Sealed bids will be received by the Briggs Lawrence County Public Library at their offices located at, 321 South 4th Street Ironton, Ohio 45638 until 12:00 p.m. local time on September 11, 2026, and will be opened and read immediately thereafter for the:

 

Bids must be in accordance with specifications, and on forms available from Briggs Lawrence County Public Library, 321 South 4th Street Ironton, Ohio 45638 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. M - F or by calling Briggs Lawrence County Public Library at
740-532-1124. A mandatory Pre-bid Meeting will be held on September 2, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at 11504 County Road 1A Chesapeake, Ohio 45619.

Each bidder is required to furnish with its proposal, a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond in accordance with Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code. Bid security amount shall be equal to 5% of the bid amount and, if furnished in Bond form, shall be issued by a Surety Company or Corporation licensed in the State of Ohio to provide said surety. A certified check, cashier's check or money order in the same amount is acceptable bid guaranty.

Total Estimated cost of construction is $523,000.00

Each Proposal must contain the full name of the party or parties submitting the proposal and all persons interested therein. Each bidder must submit evidence of experience on projects of similar size and complexity.

Prevailing Wage rates are required for this project.

All contractors are required to have a drug-free workplace program (a BWC program or comparable program) to bid on this project.

Briggs Lawrence County Public Library reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals; to waive any informalities in the bidding; and to enter into a contract with the bidder who in their consideration offered the lowest responsive and responsible bid. Briggs Lawrence County Public Library also reserves the right to hold all bids for 60 days.
